Method for Social Media
Method is using social media to battle Clorox on a trademark issue.

Method has been using a daisy image for six years. The flower is a metaphor for the natural aspect of Method’s cleaning products. Clorox recently introduced “natural” versions of their products and issued a cease-and-desist notice to Method regarding the daisy.

Method is smart. The fact that Clorox didn’t anticipate Method’s “take it to the people” approach illustrates that they are not in touch with the audiences they serve. It’s often more difficult for a big brand to be as nimble as a smaller brand, but that’s no excuse for neglecting to embrace a social strategy — especially when your competitors obviously have.
